Spielberg and Scorsese produce new Cape Fear series for Apple TV+
Apple TV+ is set to premiere a new series adaptation of the thriller Cape Fear. The project is executive produced by Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese, starring Amy Adams and Javier Bardem.

Apple TV+ will launch a ten-episode series adaptation of John D. MacDonald's novel 'The Executioners,' widely known as 'Cape Fear.' The series, which debuts on June 5 with a double-episode premiere, features Amy Adams and Patrick Wilson as the central legal couple facing a threat from a former client, played by Javier Bardem.
The production is overseen by executive producers Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese, with Nick Antosca serving as showrunner. While the material has been adapted for film twice before—in 1962 and 1991—this version utilizes the long-form episodic format to delve deeper into the narrative, spanning nearly ten hours of screen time.
The series incorporates stylistic elements from previous iterations, including the work of film composer Bernard Herrmann. The release will continue through July 31, providing a modern update to the classic suspense story.
