Spotify adds notes feature for song explanations on playlists
Music streaming service Spotify has launched a new feature allowing users and editors to add explanations for their song choices on playlists.
Spotify has introduced a new feature called Playlist Notes, which enables users to provide context and reasoning behind their song selections on playlists. The service aims to deepen the listening experience by allowing personal narratives or insights to be shared directly with the music.
In addition to user-generated content, Spotify's own editorial team will utilize Playlist Notes on its major playlists, including RapCaviar. This will offer listeners a behind-the-scenes look at how and why certain tracks are curated for popular lists.
The feature allows for the addition of text descriptions that can explain the significance of a song, share a personal story related to it, or provide other relevant background information. This aims to foster a greater connection between the music and its audience.
Playlist Notes integrates into the existing playlist creation tools, making it a seamless addition for users. The company has not yet detailed the full global rollout plan for the feature.
