Spotify Founder's Health Scan Startup Opens New York Clinic

Neko Health, a full-body scanning startup co-founded by Spotify's Daniel Ek, has opened its first U.S. clinic in New York City's SoHo neighborhood. The company aims to redefine healthcare by emphasizing data-driven diagnostics and preventive care.

The clinic's design reflects Neko Health's approach, prioritizing a minimalist and futuristic aesthetic reminiscent of a high-end spa or boutique. Featuring soft lighting, clean lines, and pastel accents, the environment is intended to reduce patient anxiety and create a more welcoming experience compared to traditional medical facilities.

Having already performed over 100,000 scans at its European clinics, Neko Health has secured $700 million in Series C funding. The New York location marks the company's initial expansion into the U.S. market, with plans for additional clinics in Miami, San Francisco, and Washington D.C.

Architect Franquibel Lima, who led the clinic's design, stated that the spaces are not geared towards treating sick patients but rather for proactive health management. "Moving from reactive healthcare to proactive healthcare requires a real mindset shift," Lima explained, highlighting the importance of personalized health insights over generalized approaches.
