Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia (SSFF & ASIA), an Academy Awards accredited festival, has initiated a global contest for short drama concepts, with a ¥10 million production prize. This competition is part of the "AYET Project," a Web3 entertainment venture led by Nihonchokuhan Inc., and accepts submissions through the LIFE LOG BOX platform.
The contest invites filmmakers worldwide to submit innovative proposals for short drama productions. The initiative is backed by prominent producer Yasushi Akimoto, who will also serve on the judging panel. Akimoto stated the goal is to foster an environment where young talent can thrive in the film industry. The collaboration combines SSFF & ASIA's festival expertise with LIFE LOG BOX's data management capabilities to support international creators.
Submissions are open from July 10, 2026, to August 9, 2026. Participants can submit storyboards or scripts for short dramas under 10 minutes, along with a logline and a 500-word plot summary. Submissions are accepted in English or Japanese, and the use of generative AI tools is permitted if disclosed. An entry fee of ¥5,000 applies per submission.
The grand prize winner will receive ¥10 million in production funding to realize their project under professional guidance. Additionally, a minimum rights buyout fee of ¥1 million is guaranteed if the winner chooses not to participate directly in production. The creator will receive a credit as "Original Story/Concept by" and a share of commercial profits. A blockchain-based 'Participation Certificate' will be provided via LIFE LOG BOX.
