Stadler and HTM Begin Trial Operations of 62 New TINA Trams in The Hague

Stadler and the local transport operator HTM have begun trial operations of the new TINA trams in The Hague, Netherlands. A total of 62 new trams have been ordered to replace the older GTL8 fleet, marking the largest order for Stadler's TINA model to date.

The introduction of these new trams signifies a significant step in modernizing The Hague's public transport network. The TINA trams are designed to enhance passenger comfort and accessibility. They feature a low-floor design, facilitating easier boarding for individuals with reduced mobility, those traveling with strollers, and wheelchair users. Large panoramic windows and increased interior height contribute to a more spacious feel.

Passenger feedback was incorporated into the interior design, with seating, handrails, and stop buttons developed in collaboration with local stakeholders. Each tram is equipped with four newly developed bogies aimed at reducing wear on wheels and tracks. The trams also feature an energy-efficient propulsion system and an onboard battery, allowing them to operate on non-electrified sections for up to 1.26 kilometers.

Safety features include a collision warning system and the UNIBOARD© driver display. The trams are manufactured at Stadler's facility in Siedlce, Poland. Following the trial period, the trams will be gradually introduced into regular service to serve the residents and visitors of the growing Hague region.
