Stadler Expands U.S. Production Facility in Salt Lake City
Train manufacturer Stadler has opened a significant expansion at its Salt Lake City facility, increasing production capacity and aiming to create up to 300 new jobs. A groundbreaking for a new CNC hall was also held.

Stadler, a provider of rail vehicle solutions, has marked a decade of manufacturing in the United States with the opening of an expanded facility in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The expansion adds 245,000 square feet of production capacity, bringing the campus to a total of 475,000 square feet. The project is expected to create up to 300 additional local jobs, including youth apprenticeship roles. The enhanced site features new facilities for welding, assembly, blasting, warehousing, and electrical pre-assembly.
A ceremonial groundbreaking also took place for a future CNC hall. This facility will utilize computer-controlled equipment to precisely prepare aluminum railcar panels for welding.
The Salt Lake City operation, which currently employs around 750 people, supports major rail projects across the U.S., including contracts for clients such as Caltrain, Metra, TexRail, and MARTA. Martin Ritter, CEO of Stadler North America, stated the investment underscores the company's long-term commitment to U.S. rail manufacturing and industrial development.
