Standard Chartered Expands India Wealth Management From GIFT City

Standard Chartered has received in-principle approval from the International Financial Services Centres Authority to distribute capital market products from Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City), India's international financial services hub.

The approval marks a significant step in the bank's strategy to broaden access to its global wealth management capabilities through India's financial hub. The bank plans to launch its Signature CIO Funds from GIFT City for eligible clients in the coming weeks.

The Signature CIO Funds are a suite of four diversified multi-asset funds based on Standard Chartered's Chief Investment Office strategies, covering equities, fixed income, commodities, alternatives, and cash. Since their launch in 2022, the funds have attracted over US$5 billion in assets under management and are available across 12 markets.

The bank anticipates offering additional wealth solutions from GIFT City over time. Standard Chartered was the first foreign bank to commence operations in GIFT City in 2020 and currently provides a comprehensive suite of banking services to corporate and institutional clients. This latest approval further strengthens the bank's ability to serve clients with both banking and wealth management needs through one of the world's fastest-growing international financial centres.
