Star Plus Legend Holdings Limited (HKEX: 6683.HK) announced Monday that it has acquired a stake in South Korean entertainment management company Galaxy Corporation through an industrial fund. The company's investment represents up to 7% of Galaxy's issued share capital. The first closing of the fund has been completed, with Star Plus Legend contributing $8 million USD for a 16% interest in the fund.

The investment is expected to generate synergies through cooperation with Galaxy and its roster of artists. Advanced discussions are underway regarding a strategic partnership, which may include collaborations on exhibitions, concerts, and the development of artist IPs and related merchandise. Galaxy manages globally recognized artists such as Kwon Ji-Yong (G-Dragon), Kim Jong-kook, and Song Kang-ho.

This move is part of Star Plus Legend's strategy to expand its global IP portfolio. The company previously built its IP assets around its "CHOUCHOU" and "Coach Liu" IPs, reaching a cumulative fan base of 280 million. The "CHOUCHOU" IP alone has collaborated with over 200 brands, generating over RMB 1 billion in co-branded product sales.

By becoming a strategic shareholder, Star Plus Legend aims to strengthen its partnerships with top international celebrity IPs and advance its vision of creating a "global IP development and operation platform." The company views this investment as a key step in integrating IP with products, technology, and channels across international markets.
