Starlight Investments completes structural phase of Basildon residential project

Starlight Investments has completed the structural framework of The Mercantile, a large-scale build-to-rent (BTR) development located in Basildon, UK. The project consists of three mid-rise residential buildings and includes approximately 1,486 square meters of commercial space at the street level.

Situated near the Basildon railway station, the development aims to provide transit-oriented housing with links to central London. The complex will feature various resident amenities, including a gym, yoga studio, coworking spaces, and a rooftop garden. The project is positioned as a key component in the broader regeneration of Basildon’s city center, aiming to revitalize commercial areas while addressing local housing demand.

Jonnie Milich, head of the UK residential division at Starlight Investments, stated that the milestone reflects the company's focus on high-quality rental housing in connected communities. Local officials and project partners, including Orwell Real Estate, highlighted the project’s role in attracting investment and supporting business activity within the municipality.
