Startup Braga provides affordable space for global-focused startups
Startup Braga offers workspace and support for companies aiming for international markets at a low monthly fee. One company, ChemiTek, now sells its products in 70 countries.

Braga, Portugal – Startup Braga is providing founders with an affordable starting point to target global markets. A workstation within the incubator costs just €30 per month, assisting new companies in building international businesses.
ChemiTek, a company developing protective products for solar panels, exemplifies this success. It began its operations at Startup Braga and has since expanded its sales to 70 countries, with local inventory in 50 of them.
The incubator aims to foster internationalization from the very beginning of a company's operations. Located in the GNRATION building, a former police station now serving as a hub for culture, technology, and innovation, Startup Braga operates under the municipal agency InvestBraga. It supports around 300 startups in sectors including software, AI, and nanotechnology.
Collaboration with local research institutions, such as the University of Minho and the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory, is a key component. Programs cover stages from ideation to growth and open innovation. For instance, the Global Health Accelerator program leverages a strong local research and clinical network.
Startup Braga receives approximately 200 applications annually from international companies and supports Portugal's startup visa program. The city's objective is not to compete with Lisbon or Porto, but to create a focused ecosystem that connects research, incubators, and founders for global success.
