Startup integrates social media food content into unified dining platform
Singapore-based startup Flavorist has launched a platform that aggregates recipes and restaurant discovery into a single tool, aiming to reduce fragmentation in the digital food experience.

Flavorist aims to bridge the gap between social media food inspiration and actionable planning. The platform allows users to import recipes from various websites and social media feeds, while providing AI-driven recommendations for cooking and dining. By centralizing these functions, the startup intends to capture users who currently rely on disparate apps for discovery, recipes, and reviews.
Co-founded by CEO Shivapakiam Pooniamoorthi and COO Rajesh Stanley, the company is currently bootstrapped with S$100,000 in capital. The platform reports over 1,000 active users since launch and is currently exploring a potential partnership with the reservation platform Eatigo to broaden its service reach within the Singapore market.
While the company seeks to address common user pain points like app fatigue, it faces significant competition from established platforms such as Cookpad and general-purpose social networks. Future monetization strategies include a monthly subscription model and advertising opportunities for local restaurants. The company is now pursuing external funding to support its regional expansion across Southeast Asia.
