Startup investors remained active in July, with several well-known firms leading in terms of deal count and size. Funding rounds focused on artificial intelligence were particularly busy.

Khosla Ventures emerged as the most active lead investor in rounds of $5 million or more, participating in eight deals. Insight Partners followed with six lead investments, and Andreessen Horowitz with five.

When considering all investments, including non-lead stakes, Y Combinator was the busiest investor, participating in at least 19 rounds. Insight Partners and Andreessen Horowitz were next, each with 10 deals.

The largest spending investors in July included Coatue and Nvidia. Coatue participated in a $10 billion financing for rocket company Blue Origin, while Nvidia backed AI startup Safe Superintelligence with a $5 billion investment.
