Startup Pitchwise helps African founders share data with investors
Stockholm-based Bantaba has launched Pitchwise, a platform designed to help African startup founders share sensitive data with potential investors.
Bantaba, a Stockholm-based company founded by Gambian entrepreneur Lamin Darboe, has released Pitchwise. This virtual data room service is designed to assist startup founders in Africa in sharing their pitch decks and other sensitive information with investors through a single link.
Pitchwise allows founders to share pitch decks and data rooms, providing real-time alerts when a document is opened. The platform also offers detailed analytics, including time spent per slide, completion rates, and return visits. Additionally, it features granular access permissions, email whitelisting, and dynamic watermarking.
"Pitchwise offers functionality comparable to DocSend but at a fraction of the cost, positioned as a founder-friendly and cost-effective alternative," said Darboe. The platform complies with GDPR and CCPA regulations, with documents encrypted both in transit and at rest.
While fundraising is a core use case, Pitchwise is also utilized for mergers and acquisitions, sales pitches, and due diligence processes. Venture capital firms, investment platforms, and advisory firms also use the service.
Over 5,000 companies are using the platform, with more than 15,000 documents shared and over 60,000 tracked link views. Bantaba plans to expand its operations in Africa, North America, and Europe.
