Startup Unlocks Over $150 Million in Home-Based Wealth

Nidhi Singhvi, who grew up in Jaipur, India—a gemstone hub where gold jewelry is traditionally considered a significant part of net worth—has founded a company to help people leverage the value of their home-based jewelry.

Singhvi observed a different attitude towards jewelry upon moving to the U.S., noting that while purchase prices are high, selling options are often limited to pawn shops or local jewelers, failing to reflect their true value. She refers to gold as "the OG asset class."

After earning her MBA from The Wharton School, Singhvi co-founded Sonalore in 2024 with Navya Reddy, offering 18-karat gold jewelry with a lifetime buyback guarantee. However, Sonalore's customers frequently requested assistance with valuing and selling their existing jewelry.

Responding to this demand, Singhvi and Reddy launched Unvault. The platform allows users to track the value of their jewelry and facilitates its sale. The company has so far helped unlock over $150 million in household wealth previously tied up in jewelry. Singhvi anticipates listening to customer feedback to introduce more sought-after features.
