Startups Shift to All-in-One Finance Platforms for Efficiency
Startups and small businesses are increasingly adopting integrated finance platforms that combine accounting, payroll, and invoicing to streamline operations and improve customer satisfaction.

Businesses, particularly startups, are moving towards unified financial platforms offering multiple services from a single provider. This shift is driven by the need for greater efficiency and a desire to reduce the complexity of managing disparate software systems.
Previously, companies often relied on separate tools for invoicing, payroll, and bookkeeping. All-in-one platforms consolidate these functions, simplifying the process and reducing the number of vendors to contact for support or troubleshooting.
"This all-in-one integrated approach is about having the collaboration between the accountant and the startup client," said Steffen Torp, chief commercial officer at Visma. A Visma study indicates that 74% of small business owners and 80% of accounting offices prefer this integrated approach.
Beyond user feedback, regulatory changes, such as mandates for digital invoicing, are accelerating this trend. Visma employs a 'local-first' strategy for market expansion, acquiring local startups rather than imposing a single product across different regions.
