Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. has submitted data for inclusion in the CDP Supply Chain Report, an annual assessment of environmental performance and supply chain sustainability.

The 2013-2014 report highlighted that 72% of companies identified current or future risks related to climate change. However, regulatory uncertainty is leading companies to be cautious about investing in emissions reductions, with seven out of ten sectors reporting decreased investment levels.

Collaboration across the supply chain is identified as critical for mitigating climate risks. Companies that engage with multiple partners, such as suppliers or consumers, are found to be more than twice as likely to achieve financial returns from emissions reduction investments.

CDP also launched its "Action Exchange" initiative to encourage collaboration between its member companies and their suppliers. Starwood Hotels & Resorts is among the 64 member companies participating, aiming to identify and implement effective emissions reduction opportunities.
