Steakholder Foods Brings 3D-Printed Plant-Based Meat to U.S. Stores

Israel-based technology company Steakholder Foods has begun launching five 3D-printed plant-based meat products in U.S. retail outlets. The products, including chicken breast, filet mignon, marbled steak, salmon patties, and white fish patties, aim to offer consumers a novel alternative to traditional meat and other plant-based proteins.

The company's technology layers proteins and fats to create textures that mimic whole-cut meat. According to Steakholder Foods, its products are made from high-quality plant proteins such as soy and pea, along with natural fats and flavor enhancers, which are combined using 3D printing and precise culinary techniques to replicate a meat-like taste and texture.

The launch is initially targeting the northeastern U.S. market, with plans to expand its distribution network and retail footprint as consumer demand grows. CEO Arik Kaufman believes the plant-based category is ready for a new generation of products that deliver on taste and eating experience without compromise.

Steakholder Foods also notes the use of cultivated ingredients in some of its products to replicate the characteristics of traditional meat. This advanced technology combines plant-based and cultured ingredients to create more realistic offerings.
