The Steam gaming platform has once again broken its own record, reaching over 43.5 million concurrent users on October 11. According to the tracking service SteamDB, the peak reached 43,505,724 users, with Valve's own statistics showing just under 43.5 million.

It is important to note that concurrent users do not necessarily mean all are actively playing games. At the time of the record, approximately 14.5 million users were actively in-game, while others may have been browsing the store or using other platform features.

The number of concurrent users on the Steam platform has shown a steady year-over-year increase. While annual peaks typically occur during winter sales in early year, this October record suggests growing engagement beyond seasonal promotions.

In October, Steam saw the release of several anticipated content updates and expansions, including for titles like "Dragon's Dogma 2" and "Ace Combat 8". While no single game is identifiable as the sole driver of this record, popular games such as "Counter-Strike 2" and "Dota 2" continue to attract hundreds of thousands of players.
