Steam Deck Sales Slow Following May Price Increase

Valve's popular handheld gaming PC, the Steam Deck, has seen a significant drop in sales since its relaunch at a higher price point in May. The device, a consistent top seller since its 2022 debut, experienced a notable decline in its ranking on sales charts. Data compiled by gaming site Boiling Steam indicates that the Steam Deck's position on revenue charts fell from fifth place immediately following its May relaunch to 14th place in early July. It currently holds the 12th position. This contrasts sharply with its performance in early 2025, when the Steam Deck consistently remained within the top seven, often within the top five. At that time, Valve had warned of intermittent shortages, leading to temporary dips in chart position before the device became unavailable until the May relaunch. Industry observers attribute the sales slowdown to the price increase implemented in May. Valve has not yet issued a direct statement regarding the sales figures or the reasons behind the decline.
