SteelSeries Launches High-End Aeon Pro Wireless Controller with Swappable Batteries
SteelSeries has released the Aeon Pro wireless controller, targeting the premium market with a $259.99 price point. The controller features swappable batteries and an OLED screen for enhanced user control.

SteelSeries, a well-known name in gaming peripherals, has entered the high-end controller market with its new Aeon Pro wireless controller, priced at $259.99. The controller is designed for Xbox and PC and began shipping today.
The Aeon Pro boasts an OLED screen that allows users to switch between Xbox, PC, and Bluetooth modes, as well as adjust most settings directly on the controller. Users can remap buttons and modify vibration sensitivity, though advanced features like stick dead zones and profile creation still require the SteelSeries GG software on PC.
A key practical feature is the swappable battery system. The controller comes with two batteries, each offering approximately 12 hours of gameplay. These batteries can be charged in the included wireless base station, which also facilitates automatic or manual switching between connected devices.
Hardware specifications include Hall effect joysticks and triggers, along with mechanical switches for most buttons, providing a more tactile and audible response compared to standard controllers. The device also offers a two-stage trigger stop and four non-detachable back paddles. Despite these advanced features, the controller's high price has drawn comparisons to more affordable, yet capable, alternatives from competitors like Valve and Sony.
