Chinese automaker STELATO Auto (智界汽车) plans to soon disclose the identity of a former Ferrari chief designer who is rumored to have joined the company. Zhao Changjiang, Executive Director and Vice President of STELATO Auto, made the announcement via social media, confirming the impending reveal.

Zhao Changjiang stated in early June that STELATO Auto has been recruiting top talent, including former Ferrari design staff and chassis tuning experts from BMW and Aston Martin. However, the company has not officially named the individual designer, leading to significant public interest and online discussion.

In a recent video, Zhao Changjiang responded to a netizen's inquiry about the designer's identity by saying, "I will tell you another day." This suggests the announcement of the designer's name is imminent.

Speculation has pointed towards Juan Ma Lopez, former head of exterior design at Ferrari. However, these rumors have been contradicted by Xpeng (小鹏汽车). Xpeng executives have repeatedly denied that Lopez has left for STELATO Auto, asserting that he remains with Xpeng and is working on their MONA L03 model. Xpeng leadership has indicated Lopez will present his first project at an upcoming global event.

The automotive industry is closely watching for STELATO Auto's official confirmation. The situation highlights the intense competition for high-profile design talent in the rapidly evolving electric vehicle market.
