This performance has propelled it to the top of the 2026 summer box office charts, according to data from Maoyan Professional.

On its opening day, the film generated over 250 million yuan in ticket sales, accounting for 80.1% of the total market revenue for that day. This surge in ticket sales also led the overall market to surpass the 300 million yuan mark for the first time in 136 days. The movie had over 230,000 screenings on its opening day, attracting more than 5.79 million viewers.

"Kung Fu Football Girls" set seven new records in Chinese film history on its opening day. These include records for the highest number of attendees and box office revenue for a summer film premiere over the past five and three years, respectively.
