Indian technology firm STL has secured a definitive victory in a European patent dispute against Japan's Fujikura Ltd. In a decision on June 24, 2026, the Technical Board of Appeal of the European Patent Office (EPO) revoked Fujikura's European patent EP 3796060 in its entirety. The decision is final and binding.

The ruling reinforces STL's competitive standing in the European and UK optical connectivity markets. The company emphasized that the case demonstrates its capability to defend its intellectual property rights globally. STL holds a portfolio of 785 patents worldwide, covering its operational territories from North America to India.
