Stora Enso reports Q3 2026 results and restructuring of forest assets
Stora Enso posted a slight decline in quarterly sales to €2.24 billion as it implements a strategic separation of its Swedish forest holdings.

Stora Enso reported a 2% decline in third-quarter 2026 sales to €2.24 billion compared to the same period last year. Despite the headline revenue drop, the company noted a 2% increase in organic sales, driven by stronger demand for board products and an uptick in containerboard pricing.
Alongside the financial results, the Helsinki-based firm announced the creation of Bergslagets Skogar, a new unit designed to manage its Swedish forest assets. This move is part of a broader corporate restructuring effort intended to streamline operations and improve capital efficiency across the group’s timber and packaging divisions.
The forest industry continues to face headwinds from fluctuating raw material costs and shifting European demand. Stora Enso is currently balancing these market pressures by focusing on core product volumes while consolidating its asset base. Investors remain focused on how these operational changes will impact profit margins in the final quarter of the year.
