Stora Enso reports Q3 sales of 2.24 billion euros, eyes forestry restructure
Stora Enso posted a 2% organic sales increase for Q3 2026 as it announced the formation of Bergslagets Skogar to manage its Swedish forestry assets.

Stora Enso recorded net sales of 2.24 billion euros for the third quarter of 2026, representing a 2% decline compared to the previous year. Despite the headline drop, the company saw 2% organic growth, supported primarily by stronger delivery volumes in the board segment and higher prices for containerboard products.
The company also unveiled plans for Bergslagets Skogar, a strategic initiative to restructure and isolate its forestry holdings in Sweden. By separating these assets, Stora Enso aims to refine its operational focus and improve capital efficiency as the company navigates ongoing market volatility.
Industry observers note that the move is consistent with broader trends in the paper and packaging sector, where large players are increasingly shedding non-core assets or segmenting their holdings to unlock shareholder value. Stora Enso remains focused on cost management as it works to stabilize its portfolio against fluctuating market demand.
