Storm Reply launches AI chatbot for Audi using RAG technology
IT services company Storm Reply has developed an AI chatbot for car manufacturer Audi, aiming to improve internal knowledge management with Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG).

Storm Reply, a company within the Reply Group, has implemented an AI-based chatbot for automotive manufacturer Audi. The solution utilizes Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) technology to enhance the efficiency and reliability of internal information access.
The chatbot, built using Amazon SageMaker, is designed to provide employees with quick and accurate answers regarding project documentation, risk assessments, or contact details. It ensures that only relevant, business-critical information is provided. If insufficient data exists to answer a query, the chatbot will indicate this rather than fabricating an answer.
Retrieval Augmented Generation allows for the optimization of the chatbot's output through prompt engineering without altering the core AI model. This advancement reportedly improves internal communication, boosts productivity, and enhances the quality of decisions. The system aims to break down knowledge silos, making information more accessible, secure, and potentially reducing costs.
Michael Pawelke, Product Owner of AWS Foundation Services at Audi AG, noted the chatbot's role in accelerating their cloud journey and solving practical use cases quickly. Filippo Rizzante, CTO at Reply, added that the chatbot integrates data from various sources like Confluence, Notion, and PDFs, with security built in via a Virtual Private Cloud (VPC).
