Strategic Value Partners (SVP), a global alternative investment firm, announced on July 27, 2026, that its managed funds have agreed to acquire a minority equity interest in South Field Energy. The facility is a 1,182-megawatt natural gas-fired combined-cycle generation plant located in Columbiana County, Ohio.

The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. South Field Energy commenced commercial operations in 2021 and features efficient GE 7HA turbines. It is described as one of the newest gas-fired power plants with efficient operating costs within the PJM Interconnection.

The investment is part of SVP's partnership with EverGen Power, a power generation asset management firm established in 2024 to support power generation investments across North America.

SVP noted that it sees an attractive opportunity set in power generation, driven by structural growth in data center demand and the need for consolidation. South Field Energy is positioned to provide reliable generation to meet growing demand in a supply-constrained region.
