Strongpoint Partners, a technology-enabled retirement services platform for small to mid-sized businesses, has launched its Actuarial Career Development Program (ACDP). The nine-month structured rotational program is designed to cultivate the next generation of pension actuaries.

The initiative aims to address a growing need for qualified actuaries in the increasingly complex and regulated retirement services industry. The program's inaugural cohort commenced at Strongpoint's Chicago headquarters in May. Participants will receive structured mentorship, support for professional exams, and exposure to real client engagements.

The ACDP features three sequential rotations. The first phase (months 1โ€“3) focuses on foundational data skills like scrubbing and reconciliation. The second phase (months 4โ€“6) covers core valuation and compliance, including funding target calculations and navigating IRS regulations. The final phase (months 7โ€“9) addresses reporting and advanced topics, such as Form 5500 filings and PBGC premium calculations.

Participant time is allocated with 50% dedicated to hands-on client work, 30% to technical training and exam study, and 20% to professional development. Completing the program positions participants to become eligible for Enrolled Actuary (EA) status within 36 months, a highly sought-after credential in the field.
