Study: San Diego Tops List for Best Sleep Quality; Other Cities Lag
A new study identified US cities with the best and worst sleep quality, finding that avoiding phone use before bed is a key habit for good sleepers.

San Diego, California, has been identified as the U.S. city where residents experience the best sleep quality, according to a new study by Sudoku Bliss. The survey polled over 2,000 Americans across 40 cities to understand sleep habits and quality.
San Diego achieved a score of 96.36 out of 100 in the rankings. Notably, the study found that a significant portion of San Diego residents, approximately one in four, reported rarely or never using their phones before falling asleep, a practice often recommended by sleep experts.
The research gathered data on hours slept, bedtime routines, and healthy sleep habits. Sudoku Bliss aimed to pinpoint factors contributing to high-quality rest. Around 40 percent of participants noted struggling with sleep in the past.
The findings suggest that geographical location and associated lifestyle factors can play a substantial role in sleep quality. The study highlighted specific behaviors, such as reduced screen time before bed, as correlative with better sleep outcomes.
