Stuttering Foundation to Unveil 80th Anniversary Logo

The Stuttering Foundation is set to unveil a new logo marking its 80th anniversary in 2027, coinciding with International Stuttering Awareness Day. The foundation also announced plans for a year-long initiative to share stories, videos, and resources aimed at supporting individuals who stutter.

Jane Fraser, president of the Stuttering Foundation, stated that the new logo symbolizes the voices that have shaped the organization and the work that lies ahead. "People will see this logo alongside many new stories, videos, and resources over the coming year," Fraser said. "It represents the voices that shaped the Foundation and the work still ahead of us."

The organization was founded in 1947 by Malcolm Fraser, who personally experienced the challenges of stuttering and the lack of accessible information and support. Today, the Foundation provides resources to individuals in over 168 countries. "My father wanted people who stutter to have a trusted place to turn," Fraser noted. "As we approach our 80th anniversary, our purpose remains to ensure that each person finds the help they need."

International Stuttering Awareness Day, observed annually on October 22, aims to foster greater public understanding and support for people who stutter. The Foundation encourages practical actions, such as allowing individuals adequate time to speak and listening without interrupting.

Throughout its anniversary year, the Stuttering Foundation intends to continue its role as "The World's Most Trusted Resource on Stuttering." The organization offers free online resources at StutteringHelp.org for individuals who stutter and their families, and also supports research into the causes of stuttering.
