Suanova backs healthcare AI laboratory

Hong Kong-based technology firm Suanova has announced its support for a new artificial intelligence laboratory focused on healthcare applications. The company will provide computing infrastructure and technical services to the "Suanova Hong Kong-Shanghai Joint Laboratory for AI in Healthcare."

The joint laboratory is a collaboration between Fudan University and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, aiming to advance research and development in AI for medicine, clinical practice, and public health. The initiative includes academic leaders such as Professor Zhang Wenhong from Fudan University.

Suanova, which specializes in AI computing services and operates in Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Hangzhou, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Hong Kong-listed Yeebo (International Holdings). Douglas Fang, chairman of Yeebo, also signed a donation agreement with the Fudan University Education Development Foundation to support the joint laboratory.

The collaboration seeks to leverage AI to address complex challenges in the healthcare sector, potentially leading to advancements in diagnostics, treatment methods, and public health insights.
