Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA) announced its September 2026 vehicle sales increased by 13.2 percent compared to September 2025, totaling 52,056 units sold. The Forester SUV was the top seller for the month, achieving its highest September sales figures in the company's history.
Forester accounted for 15,989 of the total sales in September, marking a 17.6 percent increase year-to-date. The Crosstrek and Outback models also saw year-over-year sales gains. The performance-oriented WRX model experienced significant growth, with sales up 47.8 percent year-to-date.
Subaru of America, a wholly owned subsidiary of Japan's Subaru Corporation, distributes vehicles, parts, and accessories through approximately 640 retailers across the United States. The company emphasizes its commitment to community and environmental initiatives through its Subaru Love Promise program.
For the first nine months of 2026, total sales reached 475,878 vehicles, a decrease of 1.5 percent compared to the same period in 2025. While monthly sales showed an upward trend in September, the overall year-to-date sales figure has seen a slight decline.
