SUIND Secures ₹20.5 Crore for Autonomous Surveillance Drones
Indian drone technology startup SUIND has raised ₹20.5 crore in a seed funding round led by Transition VC. The funds will be allocated towards scaling commercial drone deployments and advancing its autonomous navigation capabilities.
Indian drone technology startup SUIND has announced the closure of a ₹20.5 crore (approximately $2.1 million) seed funding round, spearheaded by Transition VC, with participation from IIMA Ventures.
The capital infusion is earmarked for expanding the commercial deployment of its agricultural drone platform, accelerating the development of its infrastructure inspection drone, bolstering its proprietary autonomous technology, and enhancing engineering capabilities.
Founded in 2020, SUIND specializes in autonomous unmanned aerial systems (UAS) that navigate using computer vision, reducing reliance on GPS. This "vision-first autonomy" platform allows drones to operate effectively in low-altitude, near-terrain, and GPS-denied environments.
The company has already deployed its DGCA-certified autonomous spraying drone, Bumblebee, for commercial use on plantations and farms. SUIND claims this platform improves spraying consistency while reducing chemical usage, operational costs, and worker exposure to agrochemicals.
SUIND is also developing WASP, an autonomous aerial platform for industrial monitoring, security, and defense. The company aims to scale Bumblebee's production and commercial rollout while accelerating WASP’s market readiness over the next 12 to 24 months.
