Suno AI expands to generate spoken word

Suno, a company primarily known for its AI-driven music generation services, is expanding its capabilities to include spoken word production. The company announced the launch of this new speech generation feature in a public beta, available on both its web and mobile platforms.

The new functionality allows users to simultaneously generate voiceovers and background music to accompany them. Users can input scripts or provide descriptive prompts for the desired voice and style, which the AI then interprets to create spoken audio.

"Music will always be at the heart of Suno and what we build. At the same time, our vision has always extended to other forms of human expression," said Suno Chief Product Officer Jack Brody in the announcement. "Today, we're expanding what's possible in Suno with Speech: the first audio model that generates voice and music."

By incorporating speech generation, Suno aims to provide content creators with a more comprehensive suite of AI-powered audio tools. This move positions the company within the growing market for AI-assisted creative content production.

Suno has not yet provided a timeline for the full release of the speech feature following its beta phase.
