Superhuman launches email assistant for Gmail and Outlook
Superhuman has introduced an AI-powered email assistant that operates directly within Gmail and Outlook, removing the requirement for a standalone app.

Superhuman has shifted its business strategy with the launch of its new Email Assistant. The tool allows users to leverage the company’s AI features directly inside their existing email providers, such as Gmail and Outlook, rather than requiring the use of a separate, proprietary application.
The assistant provides functionality including message organization, draft generation, automatic archiving of low-priority emails, and follow-up reminders. This move marks a departure from the company’s decade-long business model, which centered on persuading users to migrate to its own dedicated interface to manage their communications.
Founder Rahul Vohra noted that while the company previously prioritized its own app design and keyboard shortcuts, the current focus has moved toward embedding AI intelligence into the tools employees already use daily. This integration follows the company's rebranding under Grammarly, which acquired Superhuman in 2025.
