Superhuman's AI auto-draft feature improves email responses
Email client Superhuman has launched an updated AI auto-draft feature that identifies important emails and generates more natural-sounding draft replies.

Email client Superhuman has released an updated version of its AI-powered auto-draft feature, aimed at streamlining email responses. The new functionality identifies priority emails and generates draft replies that better mimic the user's natural tone, reducing the need for significant manual editing.
Previous iterations of Superhuman's auto-draft had a tendency to produce robotic and overly enthusiastic responses. The current version utilizes large language models (LLMs) and learns from the user's past communication to tailor the tone. In addition to the primary draft, it offers two alternative response suggestions.
During testing, the feature successfully generated drafts for confirming meeting times and handling inquiries, including responses that declined specific types of work. Despite improvements, the system occasionally produced less practical suggestions, such as meeting requests at inconvenient hours.
The feature adapts based on user interaction. Following an instance of an undesirable meeting time suggestion, the system generated a draft that declined a similar time proposal later on. Superhuman continues to integrate AI for enhanced email management.
