Swedish company Svenska Aerogel has released an exclusive interview featuring Martin Bentz, CEO of Outlast® Technologies. The interview focuses on the Aersulate® textile fiber, which was launched in 2025 and contains Svenska Aerogel's aerogel material, Quartzene®.
Bentz states that Aersulate® is developed for textile applications where low weight and effective thermal insulation are crucial, such as in bedding, outerwear, and workwear. "We are currently strongly focused on our aerogel-based insulation technology, which we are developing with raw material from Svenska Aerogel, and the results so far are very promising," Bentz said. He further explained that by integrating Svenska Aerogel's aerogel powder into their fibers and textiles, Outlast can produce extremely lightweight and thin insulating materials while maintaining high insulation performance.
The collaboration allows for the creation of thinner and lighter materials compared to traditional insulation, without sacrificing thermal efficiency. This innovation paves the way for new design possibilities and enhanced comfort in various textile products, ranging from sportswear to high-performance work garments.
