Swedish airport operator Swedavia reported improved financial results for the first half of 2026. CEO Mats Johannesson stated that a continued growth in demand for air travel, despite an uncertain global environment, combined with increased commercial revenue, led to better operating income.

During the second quarter, passenger volume rose by nearly three percent compared to the same period last year. Johannesson noted that this volume increase, alongside higher commercial revenues, resulted in an improved operating income.

Swedavia has also expanded its route network, which supports passenger growth and airline operations at its airports. While specific figures for net revenue and profit were not detailed, the company indicated an overall improvement in earnings.

The company is continuing to pursue its growth strategy, aiming to maintain air travel provision in Sweden and enhance regional accessibility.
