Swedish export sentiment improves in latest industry survey

A recent survey from Svensk Exportkredit indicates a rise in export order intake, with nearly half of surveyed companies anticipating further growth over the next twelve months.

5 November 2026

Swedish exporters report improved order volumes over the last six months, according to the autumn Export Credit Barometer released by Svensk Exportkredit (SEK). The index measuring export order intake rose to 63, up from 57 in the spring survey, signaling a stabilization in international demand for Swedish goods.

Small-to-medium enterprises experienced the most significant shift, with their specific intake index climbing from 52 to 62. This trend suggests that smaller firms, which are often more vulnerable to global market volatility, are successfully navigating current economic conditions.

Looking ahead, 49 percent of respondents expect order growth to continue over the coming year, while only 5 percent project a downturn. This outlook reflects a broader shift toward positive sentiment within the Swedish export sector as firms adjust to current global trade dynamics.
