Sweet Loren’s scales to $100 million in annual revenue
Specialty dough manufacturer Sweet Loren’s has transitioned from a small-scale regional brand to a national presence in over 30,000 stores.

Sweet Loren’s, a manufacturer of plant-based and gluten-free refrigerated dough products, has reached $100 million in annual sales. Founded by Loren Castle, the company initially generated roughly $350,000 annually when it operated primarily as a regional business.
Castle, who began her career selling desserts at Brooklyn’s Smorgasburg market, pivoted the business model after receiving feedback from customers who wanted to purchase the dough to bake at home. Following a business education program at Columbia University, she secured distribution through Whole Foods, which proved to be a catalyst for national growth.
Today, the brand maintains a presence in more than 30,000 retail locations. The company’s trajectory reflects a shift in consumer demand for allergen-friendly, convenience-oriented food products, as Castle focused on adjusting traditional recipes to meet specific nutritional preferences.
