Swig to Acquire Bankrupt Chain's Drive-Through Locations for Expansion

Utah-based beverage company Swig is set to acquire eight former Salad and Go locations as part of a $5.4 million bid for the bankrupt chain's assets. The offer is included in a broader $5.9 million proposal that also encompasses locations in Oklahoma and Nevada.

Swig, which has rapidly expanded from 17 stores to over 170 nationwide, aims to expedite its growth by taking over these drive-through-ready sites. The targeted locations are situated in Arizona, Oklahoma, and Las Vegas, reflecting a strategic move to secure scarce, well-positioned real estate in a competitive market.

Founded in 2010 by Nicole and Todd Tanner, Swig identified an untapped market for specialty, flavored fountain drinks. The company's popularity has surged beyond its home state of Utah, earning it a spot on the Inc. 5000 list four consecutive years from 2012 to 2024.

The acquisition of these Salad and Go sites presents Swig with an opportunity to leverage existing infrastructure and prime locations. This expansion strategy underscores the company's ambition to further solidify its national footprint by capitalizing on the availability of these newly vacant, strategic retail spaces.
