Swiggy, HPCL to pilot LPG delivery on Instamart
Indian food delivery platform Swiggy is partnering with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) to pilot deliveries of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders via its quick-commerce service, Instamart. The trial will launch in Delhi.

Swiggy, the Indian online food delivery company, has announced a pilot program to deliver Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders through its quick-commerce platform, Instamart. The company is collaborating with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), a state-owned oil and gas corporation, on this initiative.
The trial will initially take place in Delhi, aiming to test the feasibility of delivering essential household items like LPG cylinders using Swiggy's rapid delivery network. Customers will be able to order gas cylinders directly through the Instamart application, with HPCL supplying the gas and Swiggy managing the last-mile delivery.
This partnership could potentially reshape the landscape of LPG distribution in urban areas by leveraging technology for faster and more convenient access. It aligns with broader trends of digital platforms expanding into diverse delivery services beyond food. If successful, the pilot could pave the way for similar services in other cities, offering consumers a new option for procuring a crucial household commodity.
