Swish Tests No-Fee Restaurant Delivery Service
Indian food delivery startup Swish is piloting Swish Go, a service that promises no platform, packaging, or hidden fees for orders from third-party restaurants. A price comparison revealed it to be cheaper than competitors like Zomato and Swiggy.

Indian quick food delivery startup Swish is piloting a new service called Swish Go in select Bengaluru pincodes. The feature allows customers to order from third-party restaurants and cloud kitchens, advertising "no platform fees, packaging fees, sneaky charges." A price comparison by MediaNama found Swish Go to be a more affordable option compared to established players Zomato and Swiggy.
The comparison, conducted on October 8, involved ordering the same two items from Nothing Before Coffee in Bengaluru's Koramangala. The final bill on Swish Go came to Rs 461. In contrast, Zomato's bill was Rs 573.48 and Swiggy's was Rs 628. Swish Go charged no delivery or packaging fees, whereas Zomato and Swiggy included these charges, though Zomato waived delivery fees for its Gold members.
Swish Go represents a shift from Swish's original model, which focused solely on deliveries from its own kitchens. The new service is expected to have longer delivery times than Swish's typical 15-minute service. The practice of restaurants listing the same items at different prices across platforms has previously drawn scrutiny from India's Competition Commission.
Swish, founded in 2024, has raised significant funding, including a $24 million round led by Bertelsmann India Investments. The company operates in several Indian cities and is exploring new delivery models amidst a competitive market where other platforms like Rapido and Swiggy have also introduced lower-cost delivery options.
