Swiss Re Foundation Opens Applications for Health Startups in Africa
The Swiss Re Foundation has launched its 10th "Entrepreneurs for Resilience" program, seeking social enterprises focused on improving primary healthcare access in low-income countries.
The Swiss Re Foundation has opened applications for the 10th edition of its "Entrepreneurs for Resilience 2027" (E4R27) program. This initiative supports social enterprises aiming to enhance the accessibility of affordable, quality primary healthcare for underserved and low-income communities in developing nations.
In partnership with organizations including the Digital Connected Care Coalition (DCCC), AXA EssentiALL, Sanofi Global Health Unit Impact Fund, and the Philips Foundation, the Swiss Re Foundation will provide selected enterprises with a combined total of US$1.3 million. Funding will be accompanied by technical assistance, tailored advisory services, and networking opportunities to help scale their operations.
For the 2027 cycle, the program is specifically targeting businesses that utilize hybrid "brick-and-click" healthcare delivery models. These models integrate in-person care with digital solutions and must demonstrate a clear potential for scalable impact.
Applications are being accepted online until October 4. The program aims to bolster healthcare infrastructure and reach in vulnerable regions.
