Synapticure Launches Ataxia Care Program to Expand National Neurology Access
Synapticure has launched a virtual care program for adults with ataxias, aiming to improve access to specialized neurology services nationwide.

Synapticure, a virtual care company focused on neurodegenerative diseases, has announced the launch of a new program specifically for adults living with ataxias. Ataxias are neurological conditions that progressively impair coordination, balance, and motor function.
The virtual-first program intends to provide timely access to specialized neurological care for individuals across the United States who have been historically underserved.
"For people living with ataxias and their families, accessing expert neurological care is often a years-long struggle," stated Synapticure CEO Sandra Abrevaya. "Synapticure was built to change that dynamic—to expand access to specialized neurological expertise directly to patients."
The program will be led by Dr. Elizabeth Ferluga, Director of Movement Disorders at Synapticure. Services offered include virtual medical evaluations, genetic counseling, comprehensive longitudinal care, and information on clinical trials. Synapticure has partnered with Biogen on disease education and awareness efforts related to the program.
Patients can access services as their primary neurologist or alongside their existing care team, with Synapticure emphasizing that its healthcare providers operate independently and are fully responsible for patient care.
