Synopsys Enhances AI Workflows in Chip Design with NVIDIA
Synopsys has unveiled new autonomous AI workflows for chip and system design in collaboration with NVIDIA. These advancements aim to significantly accelerate design processes and improve production efficiency.

Sunnyvale, Calif. – Synopsys announced new, fully autonomous AI-driven workflows for chip and system design at the 2026 DAC Chips to Systems Conference. Developed in partnership with NVIDIA, the technology leverages NVIDIA Nemotron, NVIDIA's accelerated computing platform, and NVIDIA OpenShell runtime.
The new capabilities aim to serve as a force multiplier for engineering teams, automating time-consuming tasks such as chip verification and thermal simulations. Synopsys stated that its fully autonomous design verification process can accelerate the time-to-validated RTL by up to 50 times and achieve an additional 20% improvement in coverage.
The company also demonstrated autonomous computer-aided engineering (CAE) workflows for thermal management and electronic device cooling. These tools are designed to autonomously execute setup, pre-processing, and post-processing in a fraction of the time required for manual approaches.
Synopsys has also expanded its portfolio of GPU-accelerated products, including PrimeSim SPICE simulations, which are up to 18 times faster. The integration of AI into these design processes is intended to shorten development cycles and enhance system performance.
