Taiwanese health tech firm GoodArch has invested nearly 1 million ringgit (approximately US$245,000) in an AI-powered foot mapping system in Malaysia, as it expands into preventive healthcare.
The system can assess a user’s feet in about five minutes. GoodArch stated that the system is available at several locations in Malaysia, including Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Batu Pahat, and Johor Bahru. It has reportedly been used for over 300,000 foot structure assessments.
GoodArch plans to collaborate with local health management providers as part of its expansion in Malaysia. The firm, which operates the GoodArch foot support brand under Homeway Technology, is focusing on preventive health with this investment.
It remains unclear if the AI foot mapping system falls under Malaysia's medical device regulations, according to the country's medical device regulator. A U.S. trademark filing associates the GoodArch mark with Homeway Technology Co., Ltd.
