Tamron Announces 12-20mm f/2.8 Di III Ultra-Wide Lens

Tamron has launched its new 12-20mm f/2.8 Di III ultra-wide zoom lens, available for Sony E and Nikon Z mounts. The lens provides photographers with a broad perspective and a fast aperture combined with a compact size and low weight.

The lens is suitable for landscape and astrophotography due to its 12mm focal length and f/2.8 aperture. It also allows for a minimum focus distance of just 7.1 inches at the wide end, useful for close-up shots. The optical design incorporates multiple aspherical elements and glass molded elements to minimize peripheral aberrations and chromatic aberration, ensuring corner-to-corner sharpness.

Despite its advanced optics, Tamron has managed to control the lens's size and weight. It measures approximately 4.7 inches and weighs 20.2 ounces, making it one of the smallest in its class. The lens also features a VXD linear motor for precise and fast autofocus, along with a moisture-resistant construction and a fluorine coating on the front element.
