Tartu Business District Protected from High Groundwater
The first stage of the Port Athena mixed-use development in Tartu, Estonia, was completed in August 2026. The project utilizes PENETRON ADMIX to protect structures from high groundwater levels.

The initial phase of construction for the Port Athena mixed-use development in Tartu, Estonia, concluded in August 2026. The entire complex is scheduled for completion in 2027. A key aspect of the project involved implementing PENETRON ADMIX to ensure the concrete structures are protected against challenges posed by high groundwater.
The Port Athena development will feature five modern office buildings with retail spaces on the ground floors. The construction site presented challenges due to significant groundwater levels, necessitating robust waterproofing solutions to maintain the integrity of the buildings.
PENETRON ADMIX is a concrete admixture designed to create a crystalline barrier within the concrete, preventing water penetration and protecting against corrosion. Its application aims to enhance the durability and lifespan of the construction.
Upon full completion, the Port Athena complex is expected to serve as a commercial hub in Tartu, offering contemporary office and retail facilities.
