Tau Motors Highlights Electrification Technology at Climate Week NYC

Tau Motors, a company focused on software-defined power conversion, highlighted its electrification technologies at Climate Week NYC 2026, held in New York and Redwood City, California. The company presented 19 technical papers co-authored with the Columbia Center of Advanced Electrification (CCAE).

The research featured in the symposium program covers power conversion, electric machine modeling, energy storage, and grid-connected systems. These publications underscore Tau Motors' investment in power conversion, controls, and electric machine engineering, disciplines central to its Ion™ and Gamma™ platforms. The work also demonstrates Tau Motors' broad engagement in sustainable energy systems.

Tau Motors' Ion™ platform integrates modular power electronics with firmware and software libraries for applications in mobility, industrial equipment, energy infrastructure, and data centers. Its Gamma™ electric machine platform combines machine design, power electronics, and controls to enable rare-earth-free solutions.

At the symposium, Tau Motors Founder and CEO Wesley Pennington discussed how integrating power electronics, electric machines, and software can accelerate electrification. He stated that co-design optimizes system performance, reduces material dependencies, and speeds up deployment across transportation, industry, and digital infrastructure.

Tau Motors established the CCAE in collaboration with Columbia Engineering to bridge advanced research with practical industrial applications. This partnership aims to address challenges affecting the efficiency, reliability, and broader deployment of electric systems.
